Frequently Asked Questions About Pool Maintenance in Sioux Falls

Service Details & Scope

Are your technicians licensed and insured?

Yes, Parklane Pool Company is fully licensed and insured.

What does "Service Call Priority" mean?

If you experience an issue with your pool between your regularly scheduled weekly maintenance visits, your request for an additional service call will be prioritized over non-valet clients or less urgent calls. This ensures you receive faster attention and resolution for any unexpected pool problems.

What is involved in "Water Testing and Balancing”?

Our Parklane Pool Co. technicians regularly test your pool water for key chemical levels, including pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and calcium hardness. Based on these readings, we add the necessary chemicals (note: chemicals are not included in the weekly service price) to ensure your water is properly balanced for safety, clarity, and the longevity of your pool equipment.

What kind of "Cleaning and Debris Removal" is included?

This service includes skimming the surface of your pool to remove leaves and other floating debris, vacuuming the pool bottom to eliminate settled dirt and sediment, and brushing the walls and steps to prevent algae buildup. Our goal is to leave your pool sparkling clean and free of visible debris each week.

What does "Filter Maintenance" entail?

Filter maintenance includes inspecting your pool's filter pressure and, as needed, backwashing or cleaning the filter cartridges to ensure optimal filtration and water circulation. Proper filter maintenance is essential for clear water and efficient pool system performance.

How often is "Basket Cleaning" performed?

Basket cleaning is performed during each weekly service visit. Our technicians empty and clean the skimmer baskets and pump basket to maintain unobstructed water flow and prevent strain on your pool pump.

What is covered in "Equipment Inspection"?

During each visit, our Parklane technicians conduct a visual inspection of your pool's essential equipment, including the pump, filter, heater (if applicable), and automation system. We check for obvious signs of leaks, unusual noises, or malfunctions and alert you to potential issues before they become major problems. Please note: this is an inspection — not a repair service — but it helps with early detection of issues.

What if my pool has a problem (e.g., green water, equipment malfunction) that isn't covered by weekly maintenance?

If our technician notices an issue that falls outside of your weekly maintenance plan, we’ll reach out with a proposed timeline and pricing, if the cause of the issue is known.

Do you service both in-ground and above-ground pools?

We currently service only in-ground pools. However, we do offer valet service for any type of pool.

Logistics & Scheduling

How long does a typical weekly service visit take?

It depends on the time of year and the condition of your pool. A visit may take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, though most are typically around 20–30 minutes.

Do I need to be home when you service my pool?

No, you do not need to be home during your pool service. We simply ask that the Parklane technician has clear and easy access to your pool area. If there’s a gate or lock, please ensure it is unlocked before the visit or that we’ve been provided access ahead of time. Of course, if you prefer to be home, that’s totally fine too; whatever works best for you!

What happens if there's bad weather on my service day?

We do our best to stick to the schedule. If we're unable to service your pool due to weather, we’ll plan to return the following day.

How do I prepare my pool for your weekly visit?

Please make sure your pool’s water level is correct, any necessary gates or doors are unlocked, and the cover pump is placed on your pool cover if applicable.

Billing & Contracts

Is there a contract required for the Valet or Valet+ Care?

Not at this time, but we anticipate implementing service agreements in 2026.

How and when will I be billed for the service?

Valet and Valet+ services are invoiced on a monthly basis.

For Call-In Care, we typically send invoices via email one week after the service has been performed. Liners, covers, or any other special order item requires a 50% down payment.

Can I pause or cancel my Valet or Valet+ Care? What is the policy?

Yes, you may currently pause or cancel your Valet or Valet+ Care. Please note that this policy is subject to change in 2026.
